Anurag Kashyap Loves To Break Rules, Especially When It Comes To Love
“I had a rule on my film sets that nobody can fall in love. I broke my own rule during the shoot of Dev D," says the firebrand director about his romance with Kalki Koechlin.
Anurag Kashyap is known to
make his own rules, but there are times when he breaks the same rules he makes.
The story goes like this… Anurag Kashyap had barred the cast and crew of his
films from establishing a romantic alliance on the sets. He was afraid that it
will hamper the efficiency of his team. However, he went ahead and flouted the
rule himself, anyway. This was when the director fell head over heels for Kalki
Koechlin, the actress of his film Dev D.
Anurag made this interesting statement speaking at the Movie
Mela at the 19th edition of Jio MAMI Film Festival, a platform where stars and
star makers come together to talk about their love for films.

Addressing his fans and media at the festival the firebrand
filmmaker gushed, “I had a rule on my film sets that nobody can fall in love. I
made that rule while starting the shoot of Dev D and I broke my own rule.” The
romance between Kalki and Anurag blossomed on the sets of his 2009 film. Kalki
played Chandramukhi aka Chanda in the modern-day take on Sarat
Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic Bengali novel Devdas. After reportedly
living-in for two years, the two tied the knot in 2011.
